Winter Field Day was a great success, with 20 volunteers coming together at Kopernik Observatory to support station setup, operating, logging, visitor engagement, and more. Due to safety concerns from an approaching winter storm, operations were concluded at midnight on Saturday.
Setup began Friday with antenna coax installation, followed by indoor station preparation Saturday morning. Stations went on the air at 11:00 a.m. and operated for 13 straight hours. Four stations operated across six bands using both phone and CW, logging 565 QSOs and earning 14 multipliers out of a possible 25.
Winter Field Day continues to highlight the value of amateur radio in emergency preparedness, technical skills, and teamwork.
